Garden 2023

Summertime Fun!

It’s Summertime!

I’m loving the sunshine, how about you?

Writing News

The Kickstarter campaign for Malice, Matrimony, & Murder is at the midway point, so if you want to get in on all the freebees and haven’t pledged yet, click here to get all the details.

I changed the title of my story at the suggestion of my editor, so my story in the collection is number 7 and is entitled “Love and Death in Madison, Georgia.” I hope you all get a copy and please leave a review of my story, or the whole thing.

I was offering my ebook “The Uninvited Guest” as one of the prizes, but they wanted me to change an “offensive” word. I said no. I already removed 4 “offensive” words from “Love and Death,” because of the cozy guidelines the group had decided on, so I figured I’d done my part for the PC crowd. It’s a very confusing time when one group is outraged by book banning, and the same group is banning the language we use to tell our stories. Don’t get me wrong. I don’t use the F bomb or anything that crude, but when you can’t use the word “hell” when referring to the place, it’s a little ridiculous. Okay, end of rant.

Dreams and Illusions is going back for the third round of edits, so we’re coming closer. I’m excited about the changes I’ve made and hope my ARC team is, too. My goal is to offer $.99 pre-orders through the month of September and go live, October 1.

The next book up is a non-fiction book for teens, young adults, and anyone else who wants to learn more about spiritual warfare. I’ve entitled it The Demon Slayers’ Handbook: How to Stop Being Satan’s B!@<h. Like I said, it’s geared toward teens and young adults. The book will teach readers who God is, who they are, who God made them to be, and how to take charge of their lives in the spirit realm. With God’s help it will be a powerful tool against suicide and other destructive practices. I’m excited about it.

The cover of Loved So Much It Hurts is now sporting two award ribbons, which I’m very proud of. A Global Book Awards ribbon and a Book Excellence Finalist ribbon! I’m very excited about that.

Garden News

My shoulder has healed quite well, but my SSCD is still inhibiting my ability to do physical activities. My husband is awesome, though, so the garden is happening. Yea! I drew the plan, and ordered the seeds, and I can point and say, “That goes there.” And I can rake the paths and water. Not bad. My surgery is set for July, so next year should be even better. The shrub on the right is my lovely Mock Orange with an Elderberry behind it. I got a little too much sun and got sick the next day. 🙄It was totally worth it!

Bunny News

The babies keep coming. And doing very well in shows, too. Hopefully, my little doe will have a litter in a couple of weeks. One of my daughter’s bucks was registered as a Grand Champion, so that’s exciting. That makes two for her.

Featured Author

My featured author this month is L.C. Hayden. I’ve read the first in her Aimee Brent Mystery Series, Ill Conceived, and it had some heart-pounding moments, let me tell you. Aimee is a small-town reporter who ends up delving into the disappearance of a local girl. The twists and turns kept me guessing, but Aimee’s own buried childhood memories had me on the edge of my seat!

I’m on the next book now, “Vengeance in My Heart,” which drew me right in with hair raising action, and I can’t wait to see how it turns out. This book does contain some mild sexual content so far, so far, but it’s brief. Not enough to keep me from following Aimee on another manhunt.☺️

L. C. Hayden is the author of the popular Harry Bronson and Aimee Brent mystery series. When Doubts Creep In, the latest Bronson release, recently hit the #1 Kindle Bestseller list for suspense and the #2 spot for mysteries. The Aimee Brent series hit the #3 Kindle position for Women Sleuths. Her novels have been finalists for the distinguished Silver Falchion Award, the Readers Choice Award, the Agatha and LCC Awards, hit the Pennsylvania Top 40, the B&N Top 10, and the Kindle Best Seller Lists. Her angel/miracle series are International Best Sellers.

Hayden is also a popular speaker.  She presents workshops, has spoken to clubs, and major cruise lines have hired her to speak while cruising all over the world.  From October 2006 to October 2007, Hayden hosted Mystery Writers of America’s only talk show, Murder Must Air.

Until next time, happy reading!
