One Step Closer…

Yes! My galley corrections have gone to the typesetters!

I am up to my eyeballs in planning my awesome launch party, so being closer to a release date feels really good. I’m more confident now that the book will be available well before Christmas.

What is going into my party planning? Well, of course there’s finding a venue and a caterer, creating great prizes for the drawing, writing a speech, choosing a reading, figuring out the sound system and power point show, decorations, invitations, publicity…the list goes on.

I’m developing some great gifts with purchase, including a free download of my soon to be published award winning short story, “The Uninvited Guest!”

I’m also looking forward to getting some of my other short stories on e-book. Collaborating on cover designs is proving just as fun as writing the stories.

We also survived another week at the Walla Walla Fair and Frontier Days, which was pretty awesome this year. As well as Gracie winning big with her bunnies, my web design (for this website) won a Champion and Best of Show!I also did quite well with my canning…

And Crochet…

Of course now it’s back to the business of harvesting and preserving the garden. Those dreaded squash bugs pretty much shut down zucchini and yellow squash production, but we did get two batches of relish and a few sautées out of it first, so I’m okay with it. The raspberries, pole beans, tomatoes, peppers, greens, beets, and carrots are still going strong, and the pumpkins and Hubbard squash have taken over everything—including the yard.

Canning and saucing are a great vacation from proof reading and party planning. And the concord grapes smell absolutely intoxicating every time I step out of the house, so juicing is just around the corner. Yum!
