Quilt Shop Hop 2026 April 11-2

Bunnies, Quilts, and Murder!

Spring has sprung…finally.

There is still a chill in the air here most mornings, but the trees and bulbs are blooming and the lawn mowers are mowing!

Writing News

The History Mystery Chick Author Takeover I took part in on Valentine’s Day was so much fun! All of my posts were videos, and I had quite a few readers engage with them. It was great getting to know them, and I gave away some great prizes, including these!

Congratulations to all my winners!

Though health issues have put the kibosh on some quilting and gardening enjoyment, they have left me plenty of room for revising!

I know you’ve all heard this a thousand times, but book 2 in the Gabrielle Dorian Mystery Series, Dreams and Deceptions, will soon be out. I’ve found a new editor, and I’ve entered it into the Clamor Awards Competition, so I’ll be heading to Killer Nashville in August—hopefully as a finalist!

I’m loving the changes I’ve made to the story so far. I’ll be introducing stylish, sassy, Chantelle Walker, who graduated from the Taking Flight Program and now works at the boutique, and tall, handsome Detective Robert Marsh, from the Whitman PD, who doesn’t win any popularity contests with Gabrielle. And of course, heartthrob, Matthew Pierce, will make another appearance, as will Gabrielle’s nemesis, Trevor Bruthert. You won’t want to miss this one!

Dreams and Illusions has another five-star review, which made my day. If you haven’t reviewed it on Amazon or Goodreads, please, please, please, do so. It really helps us authors get noticed.

Wisdom Books in Kennewick, Washington invited me to a book signing this June, so stay tuned if you’re in the area. I love to see my readers in person.

Bunnie News

Our darlings, Pretty Lady and her sons, keep taking top honors in the Jersey Wolly department, and Pretty Lady is expecting another litter next week! Puff, my Rudy-eyed White had her litter this week. It was her first litter with a survivor, so she’s very happy to have a baby at last. Baby’s still naked, so I’ll save pics for later. Grumpy Maxine, my blue, has yet to have a litter for me. I think she’s trying to fake me out this time by pulling a little fur, but I’m still waiting…

Quilting News

I have done some quilting, or piecing rather. I’m working on a double wedding ring quilt using the Nantucket Summer collection from Moda, and the Welcome Home Fall BOM from Shabby Fabrics.

My husband and I will be traveling around the Pacific Northwest for the Quilting Shop Hop in the next two months, breaking up doctor appointments with a little fun. Of course, I’ll be writing all the way! I’m determined to finish this revision before the end of the month, and so far, I’m on track.

Shop Hop update: We traveled Northern Idaho and the Spokane area, hitting fourteen quilt shops and knocking out one region! I did not get much writing done because the drive was so beautiful (and windy). It was so much fun! We’re planning our next weekend already. 😁

Next time I’ll be sharing some of the books I’ve been reading this year!

Until then, happy reading!

Rebecca
